50th Reunion

Event Details

Yes, its been 50 years since we’ve walked the halls of CHS unless you happen to be Roy Jacks who returned there to be principal for a few years! Now wouldn’t that be an interesting trivia question?

So, we have to do something special for this reunion...although just coming together at this time will be special within itself!

The date is set; it is April 7 & 8 of 2017 so mark your calendars and make your reservations. There are hotels to choose from such as Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn in Cleveland plus others are being built but I doubt that they will be finished before our time of need. Hampton Inn is supposed to give us a special rate but will not arrive at their pricing until this year is finished up. I have already booked and they will adjust pricing at that time.

We are trying not to plan too many activities so that each person can choose what he or she wants to do. We just want to make several possibilities available to you.

We will have a casual get together Friday evening beginning at 6:00 at the Knights of Columbus. (KC Hut) It is located at 3401 Highway 8 in Cleveland. We’ll just have something simple like hamburgers and hot dogs with chips and soft drinks. This would also be a BYOB for any who want a little something extra.

For those who enjoy or want to play golf, AB Cox will be in charge of getting playing times so he will need a count of who would be interested in playing. Golf times will be Saturday morning.

Saturday around 2:00 pm, we will have a tour of our high school for those who would like to walk the hallowed halls once again. And at 4:00 pm, we will have class pictures made at the school in front of the sign. This is important for all to participate!

6:00 - Sat Evening - American Legion - Catered Hors D'oeuvres & Entertainment!

Yes, you read it correctly...entertainment!!! We have a band...The Delta All Star Reunion Band! This band is managed by our own CHS class mate and original “Reet” Rick McWhorter.

CHS Rocks!

This picture was taken at the Class of 66 Reunion with the band and it was a blast so I want ours to be just as memorable! To cut some of our costs, we will be selling tickets to other CHS-ers to join us at 8:00 when the band begins to play.

The meal will be just for us and there will be a bar for beer and setups.

For our two days of events including the band, the cost will be $65 per classmate or $100 per classmate and spouse. This can be paid online with Paypal or by check made out to CHS Class of 67 and mailed to Brenda (Milam) Bramuchi, 1313 S. Fifth Avenue, Cleveland, MS 38732. After all classmates who plan to attend have purchased their tickets, the remainder of tickets will be made available to other classes for band only.

There is so much more to do in Cleveland such as: Grammy Museum Mississippi, The Martin & Sue King Railroad Heritage Museum, Dockery Farms, Sports Museum in the DSU Field House, DSU’s Chinese Heritage Museum, Golfing, and the 48th Annual Crosstie Arts & Jazz Festival.

Don’t miss this!
